Talking with Your Artist
Once your artist accepts your song commission, a dedicated messaging thread opens directly on your song page. This is a real, back-and-forth conversation. You and your artist can exchange messages throughout the entire creation process. Open collaboration is not just allowed, it's encouraged. The more context and detail you share with your artist, the better your song will be.
You can access your messages by visiting your song page and scrolling to the Messages section.
A couple of things to keep in mind: messaging is briefly paused at two points in the process to prompt a required action from you. The first is during lyric draft review, where you'll need to either approve the draft or submit edits before the conversation reopens. The second is at song delivery, where you'll need to take action on your song (request edits or finalize it) before messaging reopens. We're actively working on making this even smoother.
After your song is published, you can continue to leave comments for your artist, show your appreciation, or just say thank you. They'll see everything on the song page.
Requesting Edits
If you'd like to make changes to your lyrics after delivery, the first step is the Song Review tool, available on your song page for 48 hours after delivery. This lets you review your lyrics line by line and submit notes directly to your artist. If you need help after that window closes, reach out to us at support@songfinch.com, and we'll work with you.
