Having your song on Spotify is a great way to listen to your custom song! You can easily add it to your playlists and conveniently share it without needing to visit your song page.
If you have not purchased streaming, you can do that here.
How it Works
Once you have finalized your song on your song page, we begin the streaming fulfillment process. It generally takes a few days for Spotify to accept the submission. Once your song is ready, we'll send you an email with the link!
Spotify Accessibility
Because of Spotify's policies, you must have a Spotify account to access your full song. We highly recommend having a Spotify Premium membership for ease of access. Spotify is a public platform, so don't purchase this product if you want your song kept super-secret.
Because of the high volume of songs we submit, your title may have the recipient's name in parentheses after the actual title. This helps us (and you!) locate your correct song easily. If you'd prefer we use something other than the recipient's name as an identifier, we can pick a few words from the chorus or use something else - just let us know!
Songs are uploaded with our own metadata and album cover. Because our artists have their own robust music careers, we keep these songs unaffiliated with their profiles. For that reason, you will not see their name credited on the song. Not to worry though - we compensate your artist when you purchase streaming, so they're covered :)
You do not need to purchase streaming in order to hear your song, as it is always available on its song page.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
"This only plays a portion of my song; not the whole thing"
- Ensure you are logged into a Spotify account. Again, we highly recommend having a Spotify Premium account for this product.
"I didn't receive an email with the link"
- Check your spam and promotions filters! Our emails sometimes get categorized as spam, so this is a great place to look. If you don't see it, go to your song page and click on the Spotify icon to see its status.
"This is not my song"
- Close out of Spotify completely, then reopen by clicking on your streaming link. If the song still isn't correct, please email us.
"Can I upload my own album art?"
- At this time, the album cover is not customizable; we use our own approved art. You can, however, upload your own photo to your song page!
"Can you upload my song to Apple Music?"
- Absolutely! Please contact us here and we'll get that underway for you.
"It's been more than seven days since my song was delivered and I still haven't received a link"
- Check your spam filter first, then by clicking the Spotify icon on your song page. If you can't find it there, email us and we'll help locate it for you.
"Can I be credited as a songwriter?"
- While you provided the basis for the lyrics, your artist retains full rights for the recording.
"My song says Rob Lindquist wrote my song, not my artist! What happened?"
- Most of our artists have their own music careers and prefer to keep their Songfinch work separate. For that reason, we list all songs using the same artist info and songwriter credits so these songs are tied to our central account instead. Rob is one of our founders, so it's definitely not just a random name! Your artist got compensated when you purchased streaming, so we can assure you that we're looking out for them :)
If you run into issues not addressed here or have any other questions, please reach out to our Customer Experience team here. We are available from 9am-5pm central time seven days a week. We'll be sure to get to your message as quickly as possible!
